The show has come to a close and Virginia has a new
queen, Mrs. Brandi Pope.
I’ve spent most of my life encouraging others to
chase their dreams and, as cliché as it sounds, I’m now proof that
dreams do come true. God has led me to this “stage” for a great
purpose and I am overjoyed to be part of this magnificent platform
to touch the world! Residing in Midlothian Virginia, I am Brandi
Pope, Mrs. Virginia America 2012.
Growing up in a fatherless home often made me
question if I could rise above circumstances and succeed in life.
Even during those uncertain times, my mother possessed unwavering
determination and strength. This perseverance was cultivated in my
life and I learned to never let my past determine my future. Here I
am today, a loving wife, accomplished mother, successful business
woman, and now Mrs. Virginia America 2012!
I am a fun, loving and charismatic person with big
dreams and the drive to chase them! I have been married to my
wonderful husband Mark for 12 years. We have three beautiful
daughters. Skylar is 11, Shaylin is 7, and my youngest daughter
Celeste is 3. I am blessed to wake up every day and know that I have
their unconditional love and support.
I’m very involved in my church. I worked as a youth
ministry leader for 7 years, as well as being a young adult ministry
leader for 5 years. Being able to shape and mold the young people of
my community has brought me abundant joy. My passion for health and
fitness has also allowed me to be a mentor to others regarding
healthy living. In my free time I enjoy singing, dancing, modeling,
working out and even watching football! Above all, being able to
spend quality time with my husband and children is most important to
me.
My goal in this journey that God has stationed before
me is to pour into the lives of people. Losing my father at the age
of 9 to drunk driving has created a strong conviction within me. I
want to help bring about changes that will prevent others from
experiencing such tragedy. Partnering with organizations such as
MADD (Mothers against Drunk Driving) is just the beginning of a
lifelong effort to see resolution to this issue. I also volunteer
with the other non-profit organizations such as AFF (Armed Forces
Foundation), and the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) along with many
other community events. I want to use this platform to be the voice
for those that can’t be heard.
This endeavor is greater than a title. As Mrs.
Virginia America 2012, I want to be a positive role model for my
community and my state. My life is a testament of where hard work,
true faith, and a sensitive spirit can lead you. I believe everyone
has dreams to follow, and our dreams are the infant stages of
reality. We should all dream big, have the courage to pursue those
dreams, and enjoy the moments as we watch each come true!
Brandi won a custom evening gown from Frankie
Couture, the official crown ring from Ballerina Jewelers, a designer
gown from Alberto Makali, plus much more.
